For about the 5th or 6th time in my life (you'll understand soon why), I watched the movie rated "Biggest Surprise of the Year" Superbad directed by the wholly comedic Seth Rogen alongside Greg Mottola. It features an array of recognizable, award-winning comedic actors such as Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, and Michael Cera. The film features a modern, relatable setting where two co-dependent High School students (Jonah Hill and Michael Cera) are soon heading off to college and onto different paths, but they lack one crucial element all incoming freshman need: experience with girls. As a plot of one big last hoorah, they are invited to one of their first high school parties, and with specific girls in mind, they set out for the big night. Only one small thing they need to do: get alcohol for the party. While it may seem like a semi-simple task, it turns into an epic night that keeps you interested over what will happen to them, and will they ever get with the girl they both have in mind. The film is packed with so many enjoyable actors, it's impossible to not be interested in every scene (if you are a fan of comedy).
From a subjective point of view, if you are a fan of a typical "Will Ferrell" or "Seth Rogen" type comedy, this film will have you off your chair, which for me is exactly the type of comedy I enjoy. From an objective point of view, it lacks to be any different. The main plot, alongside the intricate and interesting subplots that take place during the course of the film are so seamlessly integrated and nonchalant you won't even think twice about it. The only way I can see someone sitting down, grabbing snacks, and not enjoying this movie is if you completely do not enjoy this type of comedy, but for the majority of people this is a MUST watch.
