Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, starring Jim Carrey, is a movie about a detective who solves petnappings. The movie is directed by Tom Shadyac. The story begins by explaining how our character is a pet detective and whenever a pet goes missing someone will typically call the police department but they never get the job done. When this happens someone will call Ace Ventura the pet detective. In the movie, the Miami Dolphins mascot dolphin goes missing and Ace has to find it.The whole movie continues with this ridiculous plot about finding out who kidnapped the missing dolphin how to get it back.
The objective quality of the movie is ok. The movie is on such a strange level it is almost too stupid to watch. Don’t get me wrong it was great but some of the humor in the movie was a bit childish at times. The plot of the movie was also kinda predictable at times. The way it was written it would almost guide you to the next surprise. This may be because the whole point of the movie is to be a stupid comedy. Overall I would give this movie a six out of ten on the objective quality.
The subjective quality of the movie was also alright. I wasn’t super into because when I was watching the movie it made me feel very uncomfortable at times. The plot was also very simple. There really was only one issue that Ace Ventura ran into which was that the dolphin was missing. There wasn’t anything that drew you in to keep you watching the movie. This was because you knew that in the end they would find the dolphin and everything would be fine again. Overall I would rate this movie a six out of 10 on the subjective quality.
