Tightly Packaged Nostalgia - Black Mirror Season 4 Episode 6 (SPOILERS)

Black Mirror Episode 6 Season 4, is directed by Colm McCarthy.  A continuation of the shows trend of having a sort of "season finale", Episode 6 titled, "Black Museum", is a three part mini series of an episode packed into an hour and a half of television. Black Museum goes against the model of the typical Black Mirror episode bu telling rushed mini stories and quite frankly terrible story telling. The episode follows a sadistic doctor, a couple with irrepressible differences, and the wrongful conviction of a suspect and his terrible life after death. All of these stories are told by the mysterious museum curator to a college girl seemingly on her way home to her parents, stopping to get gas. Back tracking a bit, this episode doesn't really feature and thematic elements or any overall moral ambiguity that are a staple of the show's content. Black Museum however, makes up for this lack of a lesson by presenting insane amounts of nostalgic and iconic pieces of nostalgia from previous episodes in the series dating all the way back to season one. It's a welcoming and enjoyable sight to see all these objects once more even if it was only for a minute. Throughout the episode we see the young woman feel concern for the curator as he seemingly has difficulty with the heat level within his building. Eventually, he starts to go into anaphalactic shock. She pulls a chair out for him and reveals the big twist. She was the daughter of the man who was wrongfully convicted of murder and is now an attraction at the museum where people can make a copy of himself re-live his death. Carrying a copy of her mother inside her head too, she poisons the curator, who had a hand in the not so happy ending of each mini story, and leaves him there to die, setting the store on fire. This piece of the episode is especially important because this ending gives the episode something to stand on, lacking any true lesson or underlying moral value. Bad Good
